Youth College (Tin Shui Wai) and the Rotary Club of Island Green jointly organised the Eco-friendly Upcycling Badge Design Competition and the Windbreaker Design Competition. These initiatives aimed to deepen students’ understanding of eco-friendly design, product promotion, and sustainable development, equipping them with practical skills for the future.
During the event, representatives from the Rotary Club of Island Green shared their service philosophy, helping students grasp the core principles of eco-design and recognise the innovative potential of sustainable products. All participating designs had the opportunity to be turned into actual products and used in environmental promotion campaigns, putting the concepts of environmental protection and sustainability into practice.
Through this competition, students not only enhanced their eco-design skills but also strengthened their teamwork and innovative thinking. The hands-on experience – from concept development to promotion – provided valuable insights into sustainable practices, laying a solid foundation for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle in the future. Participating campuses included Youth College (Kwai Chung), (Tin Shui Wai), and (Yeo Chi Man), with students from five different programmes – Diploma of Vocational Education (Business), Diploma of Vocational Education (Information Technology), Diploma of Vocational Education (Fashion Design), Diploma of Vocational Education (Image Design), and Diploma of Foundation Studies (Hospitality) – showcasing cross-disciplinary collaboration and diverse creativity.
The award presentation ceremony was successfully held on 7 July 2025, celebrating the outstanding achievements and innovative works of all participants. The event not only recognised the students’ efforts but also encouraged continued engagement in environmental protection and sustainable development.
