New appointments at the Directorate rank have been made with effect from 2 January 2025.
Mr KWOK Lung-kei Jerry
Mr KWOK Lung-kei Jerry has been appointed as Senior Assistant Executive Director (Academic Services). He is primarily responsible for programme planning, curriculum development, student admissions and providing central academic services for the VTC.
Mr KWOK has solid experience in the Information Technology (IT) field. Prior to this appointment, Mr KWOK had served as the Principal of Youth College and Youth College (International), overseeing the operation and strategic development of the Colleges. He had also served as the Deputy Director of the Information Technology Office, leading his team to nurture and manage a secure and effective IT platform for staff and students.
Mr KWOK holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (The Chinese University of Hong Kong).
Professor SO Wai-man Raymond, BBS, JP
Prof SO Wai-man Raymond has been appointed as Senior Assistant Executive Director to take up expanded duties under his current roles of the Principal of the Institute of Professional Education and Knowledge (PEAK) and the Principal of the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) as well as leading the Integrated Vocational Development Centre (IVDC).
Prof SO is a seasoned educator and an experienced administrator in public services. Under his expanded role, besides the operation and development of PEAK, SHAPE and IVDC, Prof SO is also responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic development of VTC’s Continuing and Professional Education (CPE). He will lead his team to formulate and update the VTC’s CPE framework, and offer quality CPE programmes to meet the skills training of industry and in-service practitioners.
Prof SO holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degrees in Business Administration (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Finance (Louisiana State University) and a Bachelor’s degree in Law (Tsinghua University). He is also a Fellow Member of Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management.
Mr Wong Chak-wing
Mr WONG Chak-wing has been appointed as Senior Assistant Executive Director. He assumes the role of Principal of Youth College and Youth College (International), taking charge of the campus operation as well as overseeing the academic development of programmes at Diploma level. Additionally, he concurrently serves as the Deputy Academic Director of the Design Discipline and the Information Technology (IT) Discipline.
Mr WONG has rich experience in the IT field. Prior to this appointment, he had served as the Vice Principal of the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology and the Hong Kong Design Institute cum IVE (Lee Wai Lee) and as the Deputy Academic Director of the Design Discipline and the Information Technology Discipline. He was also formerly the Director of the Digital Future Office overseeing the implementation of the digitalization projects for the Council.
Mr WONG holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (The Chinese University of Hong Kong) and a Master’s degree in Information Technology (Hong Kong Polytechnic University).
Dr FU Tak-chung
Dr FU Tak-chung has been appointed as Assistant Executive Director. He assumes the role of Vice Principal of the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) and concurrently as the Deputy Academic Director of the Information Technology (IT) Discipline.
Dr FU is a seasoned educator specializing in the area of Information and Communications Technology. Prior to this appointment, Dr FU had served as the Head of IT Department at HKIIT and other IVE campuses. He had also served as an Associate Professor in the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi).
Dr FU holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computing, a Master of Philosophy degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a Member of the Association for Computing Machinery.
