MAK Tin Long Alan, Year 1 student from the Diploma of Vocational Education (Jewellery Arts and Design, currently renamed as “Jewellery Design and Technology”) of Youth College (Kowloon Bay), has won the Champion of Student Group in the 24th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition.
The Competition is jointly organised by the HKTDC, the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, Hong Kong Jewellery Manufacturers’ Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong.
Titled “Life。Cybercity”, the entry features a tree-shaped brooch embellished with blue topaz and cubic zirconia stone mounted in gold plated silver and green enamel on the top of a tree. The brooch represents the strong vitality of a tree growing in a cybercity.
Furthermore, the Craftsmanship and Technology Award was also received. Therefore, we are pleased to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the sponsorship and production of the brooch by The Master Studio of Chow Tai Fook. The winning pieces of the 24th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition were displayed in the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in early March 2023.
