The 20th “Youth College Joint School Singing Competition”

The 20^th “Youth College Joint School Singing Competition”, themed “Here We Grow”, was successfully held on the evening of 27 March 2026 at Youth College (Kwai Fong).

The competition brought together winning representatives from singing contests held across 7 Youth College campuses and Youth College International, with 11 finalists advancing to the grand final. To support their preparation, the Student Development Office organised a pre-competition stage performance and singing workshop, led by experienced vocal coach and stage professional Melodee Mak.

The competition was honoured to feature 4 professional judges — Dr. Elvin Wong Chi Chung, Ms. Yman Wan, ⁠ Ms. Venus Yiu and ⁠ Mr. Edward Lai — who offered valuable feedback to the contestants. Following a series of intense performances, Cheung Lam Fung from Youth College (Yeo Chei Man) campus emerged as the champion.

Another highlight of the event was the active involvement of approximately 70 Youth College students, who applied their professional skills in styling design, dynamic background visuals, and on-site photography, demonstrating strong cross-disciplinary collaboration. The programme also featured engaging intermission performances, including a band from the Music and Media Production discipline (Yeo Chei Man campus), dance performances by Kwai Fong and Yeo Chei Man campuses, and a special self-accompanied performance by To King Hang, a Tuen Mun campus graduate currently studying Music Production at Hong Kong Design Institute. His sharing of his further studies journey added depth and inspiration to the evening.

After twenty editions, every contestant, audience, behind-the-scenes student helpers, and staff members have together written a new chapter of this shared story—Here We Grow. This year’s venue decoration and artistic design received full support from the renowned Hong Kong fashion brand ad-lib. The grand finale featured popular Hong Kong singer YT Chau Yan Ting, who shared his own personal growth journey. His heartfelt and energetic performance ignited an enthusiastic atmosphere among the more than 200 guests and audience members present.
