After completion of S4 in secondary school, Ngan Pak Kin decided to study the Diploma of Vocational Education (Electronic and Computer Engineering) in Youth College. After that, he has further studied Higher Diploma in Computer and Electronic Engineering at IVE. Upon the graduation, he was successfully admitted to Year 2 of Bachelor in Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

By applying for what has learnt from computer engineering, Pak Kin wishes that he could contribute to developing Hong Kong as an international innovation and technology hub in the future！

While studying Diploma of Vocational Education (Business Event and Marketing), I had an opportunity to participate in international events and gain some practical experience. This has laid a solid foundation for my further studies and career planning.

While studying for the Diploma of Vocational Education (Watch and Clock), I was grateful to have been awarded the Scholarship to study the “Precision Timing Program” in WOSTEP in 2019. After graduating from DVE, I was fortunate enough to receive another opportunity to pursue further education through the "Watchmaker Program" and "Customer Service Polishing Technician Program" at WOSTEP from 2021 to 2023. From now on, I am thrilled to be employed as a professional watchmaker in the headquarters of a German high-end watch brand in Germany!

The DVE (Jewellery Design and Technology)* programme allowed me to learn the craftsmanship of jewellery. More importantly, it opened my eyes to the whole world. It provided me with an opportunity to participate in international competitions, so as to improve my skills. This has laid a solid foundation for my current job in the jewellery sector.

Diploma of Vocational Education (Automotive) helped me to master the basic knowledge and skills in the automotive industry. VR (virtual reality) training was added to the curriculum to let me learn the new technologies in automotive industry, so as to prepare me for further studies and employment.

The interactive learning mode adopted in the DVE programme helped me to master the technology of air conditioning and refrigeration. Upon completion of the programme, I had an opportunity to participate in overseas competitions and attain various awards. It was not only an affirmation of my abilities, but also a good opportunity to broaden my horizons.

DVE's business courses let me understand the operations of financial accounting and e-commerce in the workplace. The interactive teaching model has cultivated my interest and motivation in learning, and laid a solid foundation for my further studies and career development.

The DVE course and Earn & Learn Scheme has a complementary effect, in which the theories learned in class can be applied in work scenarios. This has made me easier to remember the knowledge and greatly cultivated my interest in learning.

The DVE course helped me to learn different categories of IT areas such as cyber security, cloud applications, etc. It also provided me with an opportunity to deeply develop my interest in online game creation technology. Through interactive learning, I could master the knowledge in a practical way.

The Diploma of Vocational Education and the Earn & Learn Scheme has a complementary effect. What I learned in the course could be practiced in systematic workplace training, which greatly improved the learning effect. While learning the professional knowledge, I gained working experience as well as stable income.

The Diploma of Vocational Education course has laid a solid foundation for me in engineering knowledge. Upon completion of the programme, I participated in the Earn & Learn Scheme for on-the-job training, so that I could learn and earn at the same time. During the period, I participated in the installation and maintenance of gas systems, and obtained professional licenses. This helped me establish future development goals.

The DVE Building Services Engineering course gave me sufficient training of practical skills and professional knowledge. This has helped me develop in-depth understanding of daily work of indoor engineering area, and prepared me for the current job in the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department.

The Diploma of Vocational Education course provided me sufficient training to meet the needs of job requirements. It helped me master comprehensive sports and coaching skills, and also gained relevant knowledge for coaching, which helped me develop my career in the sports coaching profession.

The Diploma of Vocational Education (Construction Engineering) helped me master basic construction principles and learn industry regulations. It also taught professional drafting techniques which provided me a foundation to join the construction profession.

While studying the Diploma of Vocational Education (Aircraft Maintenance) programme, I gained the maintenance experience of different types of aircraft. The programme also helped me build a solid foundation for further studies and led me to a professional pathway.

The Diploma of Vocational Education (Information Technology) provided me with very comprehensive and practical training. The professional knowledge has helped me successfully obtain professional certification. I hope I can become a professional cloud architect.

The DVE programme equipped me with solid skills. With teachers’ encouragement, I participated in international competitions. Through the competitions, I have gained practical experience and greatly built up self-confidence.

The practical learning approach adopted by the DVB programme has enhanced our all-round skills. I was also proud to win an innovative competition with my group work on eco-invention, which has strengthened my Engineering knowledge. I am now studying at the University of Leeds in the UK, setting sail for my professional development in Engineering.

I enjoyed project-based learning in the DVB programme. It is fun and inspiring, which allowed me to unleash creativity and attempt different design skills. I am now studying at Central Saint Martins - University of the Arts London in the UK, and continuing my learning journey in the product design profession.
